China Research Paper Topic: Confronting Public Concerns

China Research Paper Topic: Confronting Public ConcernsA recent reddit study revealed that about 25% of its community is not concerned with or is not very interested in learning about a certain topic. This is troubling for many researchers because they believe the study to be indicative of something very serious and consequential. But why does that percentage still exist? The reason I found the China research paper topic to be interesting and pertinent is because we are entering a new era of natural resources, energy, and infrastructure development. It is very clear that the environmental regulations and laws will become more stringent over time. So if there is a research paper topic for a class on how environmental law affects economic policy, we should use this as an opportunity to discuss the problem of public concern. There is also a great deal of public concern and fear about many things including deforestation and resource exploitation. The issue here is how can the researcher ad dress public concerns while still gathering and using information that would make a great article. Researchers have a responsibility to address the public even though their focus may be on other topics. On the recent discussion forums, I noticed a pattern where some topics are of interest to large groups of people while others were written by a single person. The ones who were writing just a single piece were not showing interest in the things they were writing about. Many of them seemed to have written these topics for a self-aggrandizing or ego boost. Some also seemed to be overly intellectual and could not communicate clearly. When we talk about a research paper topic on China, most of us are familiar with the country and all of its controversial issues. Yet what do these individuals know about the country? Most of them could not identify a single historical event that would give us a clue about the Chinese social system and how it has changed over time. The scholars working on Chin a as research topic will need to determine whether or not a research paper topic on China is worth publishing because it will be important for China's development. A good example of this is the economic policies of China. One cannot get away with just talking about how China has been increasing its oil consumption and coal consumption. But when a research paper topic is too specific, we end up losing out on much more than we gain. Much of the information available to us would be impossible to verify. We lose our context and do not have an overall understanding of how and why certain decisions were made. If we take the time to really understand China, we could learn a lot and help our society to survive. The statistics that were uncovered about the public concerns on China had to do with fears that resource exploitation and deforestation could negatively impact the environment. However, one of the great challenges in doing research on China is that some of the results will remain hidde n from the public eye and only make their way into academic journals and published papers. What we need are more sources to gather and share our data.
